Airport Halloween 2016 Spooktacular

This week’s blog takes a look at the celebrations across the world focused on making the airport Halloween 2016 experience one to remember.

First of all, it’s not only airports that get in to the spooky spirit this time of year – airlines like to celebrate as well with discounts, scary updates to their websites, and often unique airport Halloween 2016 passenger experiences. For example, Scoot Airlines, one of the Low-Cost Carriers (LCCs) in Asia, is running a 50% off promotion Just enter the discount code “SCARY” when you checkout on their website.

The terms and conditions says that the offer ran through Oct 30 (we think), but we’re not sure whether the fine-print applied to the “SCARY” promotion to the general 20% sales they are showing on the same page. here’s the disclaimer: Sale Period (GMT+8): 0900hrs, 28 Oct 2016 (Fri) – 2359hrs, 30 Oct 2016 (Sun). Hopefully our tripchi readers already got in on the Scoot airport Halloween 2016 action over the weekend.

Similarly, Online Travel Agency Travelation is offering a discount through their website channel (or via the phone with a live agent). Just use code “TLHDAY30” for fares starting at $80 and up to $30 off. You have until midnight October 31 to book these killer deals.

Now for the airports celebrating this spooktacular holiday. First up is London City Airport. This one is just hilarious – and more “trick” than “treat”. An announcement throughout the airport was made advising passengers the limits on carrying fake blood. We are not sure if it was a joke or not, but here’s what LCY put out on the official Twitter handle on Saturday:

halloween-cupcakesProps to LCY Airport for the pre-emptive, helpful, and informative airport Halloween 2016 message. We also like the social media messages around vendor promotion related to the holiday. Check our these airport Halloween 2016 spooky snacks, decorated in the colors and flavors of the day. If you’re traveling through LCY, be sure to give these a whirl. Your taste buds will thank you.

Then, there’s LAX. LAX dressed up pets in Halloween costumes to help ease traveler anxiety. The aptly named “PUP” program (Pets Unstressing Passengers…. we’ll let the loose use of English grammar slide) kicked off by the Los Angeles World Airports on 28 October 2016. You can read more about it here. These guys are seriously cute!

Finally, the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport put on an official airport Halloween 2016 video production. This locally produced, viral video featured the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. It posted the morning of Oct 31 on the airport’s Facebook page and immediately garnered over 11,000 page views.

The name of the short film is “This Halloween … Easy Flying 101.”

The film features Stay Puft strolling through the airport, pointing out the best places to spend time, relax, and take a break. Another creative play on the #layovertip! You can watch Stay Puft airport Halloween 2016 video here.
