Airport New Year – Double Dose

You probably read my last blog on airport holiday celebrations – this blog is an extension of that, focusing on airport New Year’s Eve. Two airports that I didn’t cover in much detail were SYD and LAX. That’s because I was saving them to highlight a particularly outstanding private flight opportunity that covers not one but two New Year’s Eve parties in the course of 30 hours.

First, what’s going on at SYD for the holidays?

SYD has gone all out in the spirit of the holidays around the theme of “giving.” SYD has joined up with local a charity organisation, Variety (an entertainment charity), to hold a number of events to raise money for families in need. Also in the spirit, donation stations have been set up throughout the terminals for passengers to donate small gifts. On top of that, says one airport official: “Santa’s little helpers will also be wrapping Christmas gifts for a gold coin donation at T1 and T2 from mid-December.”

A number of airlines (Air New Zealand, China Eastern Airlines, Jetstar, Regional Express, Singapore Airlines, Tigerair and Virgin Australia) have also come together to donate flights for a raffle, while Rydges Sydney Airport has contributed hotel vouchers and catering for a Santa breakfast.

All guests can enjoy visits from Santa, a program of Christmas entertainment, singing, and Christmas elves throughout Terminals 1 and Terminals 2, from December 15th onwards.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)  for an Airport New Year’s

At LAX, the decorations are Terminal by Terminal, mostly left to the airlines creativity and imagination. LAX airport adds its own touch on the decorated shuttles and musical performances by local organization. Over the holiday season, the airport service dogs (the PUPs program) will be dressed festively in Christmas attire. Also at LAX (but not open to the public), The Penguins of Madagascar made an appearance at the Delta Air Lines’ Annual Holiday In The Hangar Celebration, held at LAX on December 10. Sounds like an awesome holiday party, Delta!

And if that isn’t enough reason to celebrate – here’s one more.
