Fall in love with flying this Feb
Fall in love with flying this Feb

Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is almost here. Whether you already escaped the winter cold and visited SFO for the Superbowl (using our traveltips of course to buy a cheaper flight), or you are still in the planning process for a last-minute romantic Valentine’s getaway, one thing is sure – February is the month to fall in love with flying again.

For a pre-Valentine’s Day getaway, we already escaped to the Rocky Mountains for a long weekend. Check out this blog series for some #layovertips if you’re passing through DEN over a long weekend like us, and this blog if you’re passing through DEN for only a dayover. We know you’ll fall in love with flying to DEN.

DEN or not, the bottom line is that fares are lower than ever partly due to the declining oil prices, and partly due to the low-cost carriers that are disrupting the industry by creating more competition through more routes, while putting pressure on traditional full-service carriers to unbundle fares. So what are you waiting for? Get out there! And of course, wherever your heart takes you this February, tripchi will guide you through that airport journey.

If you’re looking for a #layovertip or dining or shopping options during that long(er) layover, of course you can bring up the tripchi airport app and find a listing of what’s around you based on your flight time and the Concourse you’re leaving from. If you’re passing through any of the airports we cover, we’d love to get your feedback! Find these tips and more on the tripchi airport app.

New to the tripchi airport app community? tripchi is your passport to explore the airport. We roll up dining and shopping options, charging stations, as well as airport art, airport secrets and #layovertips. And, you can browse lounges, find special deals and offers, and track your flight information. It’s now available on the Android through this direct download (click here), and will be on the Google Play store soon. For all you iPhone users out there, our plan is to roll the tripchi airport app out on the iTunes store next.

We’re currently looking for feedback on the Android app (send us an email at contact@tripchi.com).

How can you help?

  1. In the aviation industry? Pass your airport connections our way? We are looking at running a limited trial to prove that we can help not only airport guests, but also airports.
  2. Flying soon? We need your help to source more and better airport content. If you’d like to write for us or contribute your airport findings, shoot us an email: contact@tripchi.com.

Fall in love with flying and the SuperbowlFall in love with flying and the Superbowl
Superbowl #traveltips. If you hit the airport last weekend for Superbowl 50, you probably know why we continuously fall in love with flying to SFO. We rolled up some Superbowl traveltips, #layovertips, and the usual tripchi #travelhacks to make your SFO airport visit painless. Even though this year’s Superbowl travel cost more than double what it cost last year, hopefully our tips helped you get to the game on fewer dollars and in one piece. Read more here.
MLK Day Airport Protests
MLK Day Airport Protests. If you happened to be at an airport during MLK Day , you probably didn’t notice too many airports celebrating this historic day (to our disappointment). That said, you probably felt that Dr. King’s spirit was alive all the same if you witnessed airport workers’ protests at many airports across the country. There were several things these airport employees were demonstrating during this national day of civil disobedience – higher wagers (backing a $15 minimum wage proposal which would drastically increase the workers’ wages, which can be as low as $6.75 per hour), as well as shaking off threats against their rights to unionize. Read more here.
Top Travel Brands
Top Travel Brands. Diffbot recently put together a cool interactive infographic, highlighting the top travel brands by a variety of clever metrics. In this blog we’ll take a look at the findings. The interesting thing about this infographic is that it measures the most talked about airlines by the number of mentions on some rather unusual social media channels. Read more here.
