Heathrow children’s activities

One of the best airport rewards program is the London Heathrow loyalty program. We are a member and also subscribe to its monthly newsletter that covers all the LHR #layovertips and airport happenings. In this month’s newsletter, LHR covered a slew of Heathrow children’s activities. A lot of readers ask us for advice traveling through airports with the kiddos, and especially are looking for children’s play areas or other kid-friendly activities to bide the time during a long layover.

The newest foray into Heathrow children’s activities includes an adventure game called “Mr. Adventure”. You or your child can try to spot the faces of Mr. Men characters from the on signage at security and the play areas. On special occasions, characters may also appear in costume through the terminals. You can also visit the children’s play areas (Terminals 2, 4, and 5 plus a family lounge in Terminal 3) for more information or to snap a photo with the Mr. Adventure picture frame. Finally, there will be “pop-up” Heathrow children’s activities in the form of craft workshops throughout the airport, where your child can decorate a Mr. Adventure t-shirt, cookie or luggage tag. You can find out more here about the schedule for the workshops, as well as other special events including live music performances (for adults too!).

And, if you’re trying to save money for your family, kids can eat free when the Mr. Adventure logo is spotted at restaurants throughout the airport. There all qualifiers around this promotion, such as validity across certain dates only, so be sure to check this link for the Heathrow’s children activities meal deal info.
