Summerish tripchi airport app update

The latest news in airports, aviation and travel from the tripchi airport app team

May 2015 recap, Summer-ish

Here’s to the official start of Summer. Members on our team spent Memorial Day on a 4 day sailing adventure and surfing the waves of Hawaii. Whatever your start of Summer holds in store for you, the tripchi airport app is there for you as your airport guide. While you’re killing time at the airport, we’re hard at work building new experiences, #layovertips, and airports into our mobile web  airport app.

Coming to an airport near you. What are the next airports on tap for the tripchi airport app? San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is now available for your to start using here. You’ll love exploring SFO – it boasts everything from charging station, free Wi-fi, pet-friendly areas, and even a Yoga room. If you have some time to kill, you’ll love stores like 100% Pure organic cosmetics, the Aviation Museum & Library, and small plates and tapas at Cat Cora. We love the local movement going on right now at SFO, and this is exactly the Airports 2.0 dogma we’ve been preaching for years.

New to the tripchi airport app community? The tripchi airport app will help you make the most of your time at the airport. We’ll tell you your dining and shopping options through our airport app, as well as #layovertips, such as airport art and other lesser known airport hacks and adventures. And, you can browse lounges, find special deals and offers, and track your flight information. We’d love your feedback on the tripchi mobile website.  You can also now download the Android APK here, but remember that it’s still “buggy”.

How can you help? If you are in the airport or airport retail industry, can you pass your airport connections our way? We are looking at running a limited trial to prove that we can help not only airport guests, but also airports!

Top 5 Annoying Seatmates
Don’t you hate that guy on the plane who…. Flying today can be a stressful endeavor and a good seatmate when you are flying solo is a crucial and horribly random. We have all been on a flight where our seatmate has severely put a damper on our experience. In the age of less seat pitch and decrease seat width, having an unruly seatmate can spell disaster for a long flight.  Read more about these airplane passenger types here.
Have you flown delta lately?
Have you flown Delta lately? Chandra got to try Delta again after a 3 year hiatus on flight 1382 from Denver (DEN) to Atlanta (ATL) for a recent business trip. We gave the experience an A- and were reminded how painless flying can really be if done right. Not only was service good (they even serve free snacks!), but the entertainment delivery (hilarious meme-filled safety video as well as the in-flight entertainment system – Delta Studio) over-delivered. Read more here.
Airline Quality Report
Calling all #avgeeks – US Airline ratings are out. Which airlines take the top marks? A couple weeks ago we stumbled upon an airline ratings study put out by Embry-Riddle. It’s a very interesting study, in that it rates North American airlines on multiple dimensions – customer service, passenger satisfaction/happiness, as well as operational indicators like on-time arrivals etc. The other thing we like about this particular airline ratings study is that it came out of academia and not out of the airlines’ own marketing funds. Find out the winner here.
