Just in time for the Great American Beer Festival AND Oktoberfest, DEN Airport unveils it’s annual tradition – the DEN Beer Garden! For the third year, from September 30 – October 10, 2016, you will be able gain admission for $10. In exchange, you will get get a souvenir glass and 10 2oz samples (Beer Flights) from a variety of Colorado breweries at the DEN beer garden.
An official Beer Flights event “Passport” will be given to attendees to keep track of their tastes across the ten breweries. The Beer Flights and DEN beer garden concept is organized by Denver International Airport and the Colorado Brewers Guild.
There’s even more going on at this year’s DEN beer garden. There will be live music from 4PM – 6PM, as well as trivia and table games available. The brewmasters will be nearby to answer questions about their batches, processes, and brand. DEN Airport has announced that it will be using the hashtag #DENBeerFlights when posting photos or information about the event on social media. We will keep an eye for it at tripchi – use our handle #layovertips as well if you happen to be passing through DEN and see the DEN beer garden in action.
In case you actually are thinking of stopping by, the DEN beer garden is open every day from 11AM – 7PM. (Suggestion for next year – extend the hours until 9PM!) And as always, patrons must be 21 years of age and older to partake in the fun. Here are the breweries participating (and the beers you can try):
- Avery Brewing – El Gose, Joes Pils
- Boulder Beer – Buffalo Gold, Pulp Fusion
- Epic Brewing – Tart ‘n Juicy, Lil’ Brainless
- Odell’s – Drumroll, Myrcenary

According to DEN Airport CEO Kim Day:
‘Beer Flights’ allows us to showcase Colorado’s outstanding microbrew industry but also recognizes our close friendship with our sister airport in Munich, the home of Oktoberfest….We invite beer lovers – whether travelers or neighbors – to stop by our outdoor plaza and sample some of the best beer available this side of Bavaria.
