Boston Logan ABCs

Getting around Boston Logan has always been pretty easy but the idea of using the airport as a place to relax, eat, and shop before a flight might not seem as intuitive. Last time I was up there I had the unexpected “opportunity” to chill out for almost 4 hours because of a flight delay. As you can imagine, I was pretty annoyed, but there frankly wasn’t much I could do about it.  I was not exactly sure what, or for how long, the delay was going to go on for, so I made the best of a bad situation. I used the extra time to explore the airport, and was actually able to get around to two different terminals, A and C.

Both Terminal A and Terminal C have a lot of really fun options, especially for that unexpected delay, but I’ll start with Terminal A. Lucky’s Lounge is the type of place that most Bostonians know about but few tourists get a chance to try—it’s definitely worth a stop next time you are in the area.  I’d recommend the curried chicken sandwich and a seasonal beer for maybe $2—simply delish.  The bartender was friendly and knew the menu well, and the scene is cool and casual. In fact, you can use tripchi find other travelers in your network who happen to be in the airport, and invite them to Lucky’s for a drink and a chat.

Terminal C has some great spots to eat as well.  My favorite is the UFood Grill.  A lot of different people have tried the healthy fast food concept but few have such great ideas for a menu.  My favorites include the Chicken Curry masala and a green tea smoothie, but you have a lot of different options for under $15.

If you want to drink or have a conversation with a fellow traveler, Beer Works is also available just a couple of hundred feet away.  This is the same place that is right across the street from Fenway and the selection is just as good.  Boston is a great sports city if the Pats or Celtics are good (in spite of losing Welker), and catching a game at the Beer Works bar is always fun.  The bartenders are attentive and can help out with a suggestion if you want one.  As far as dessert goes, the bread pudding is worth checking out at $7.50 and the entire menu is right here.

Finally, if you want something quintessentially New England – check out The Black Dog.  They are a maritime clothing company and have a large selection for everyone.  Be sure to stop by when you get a chance for a peak at the iconic The Black Dog logo.

I have had really good luck in Logan and met a lot of great people along the way.  How did I find these places, and meet these people?  Same way you can, tripchi
